Benjamin Charles Germain Lee

Hello! I am a second-year Ph.D. student in the Paul G. Allen School for Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Washington, where I work with Professor Daniel Weld and am a member of the Lab for Human-AI Interaction. Currently, I am also an Innovator-in-Residence at the Library of Congress, where I am pursuing research toward my dissertation at the intersection of machine learning, cultural heritage, and digital humanities. You can read more about my project, Newspaper Navigator, here. My Ph.D. research is supported by an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship.

Before beginning my Ph.D., I was the inaugural Digital Humanities Associate Fellow at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, as well as a Visiting Fellow in Harvard's History Department. I graduated from Harvard College in 2017 with a double major in Astrophysics & Mathematics and a minor in Physics.
